Mental Health Counseling and Therapy Services

At Joy for the Journey Counseling, we strive to be a safe space for you or your family to work through whatever challenges you may be facing.  We are passionate in meeting you where you are to set attainable goals and find the peace and healing you are searching for. This includes processing trauma, anxiety, depression, adjustment, among other issues.  With the unique experience of working with young children as well as teens and adults, we are able to offer support and guidance for every stage of life.

JILL BUCK

Jill has a passion for working with children, teenagers, and adults.  She works from an attachment-based and relational neuroscience perspective to create a warm and nurturing environment for healing and positive support.  Jill has extensive experience in working with survivors of sexual abuse and other major traumas.  She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy techniques, Internal Family System (IFS) techniques, mindfulness, and other trauma-oriented treatments. Jill has worked with children, teens, and adults experiencing a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), behavioral concerns, and adjustment issues. 
Jill is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).  She received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.  She has her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Indiana.

COURTNEY (TENBARGE) HOELSCHER

Courtney is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She has a warm and caring approach in creating a safe environment to meet your goals in therapy.  She has a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. 
Courtney has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of challenges, including trauma, adjustment, anxiety, and depression. She enjoys working with parents in building positive parenting strategies.  She is trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (trauma focused included), EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), psychoeducation, play therapy techniques, supportive counseling, mindfulness, and body oriented approaches.

SUPERVISION

Jill is able to provide clinical supervision for those seeking Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.

Courtney is able to provide clinical supervision for those seeking Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensure.

CONSULTATION

Jill and Courtney are able to provide consultation services for those looking to grow their skills of working in trauma and/or with children.  Both Jill and Courtney have extensive experience working with children as young as three up to adulthood with an attachment based approach.  Jill and Courtney have been trained in a variety of trauma treatment techniques and applying them in clinical practice. Please contact us if you are a provider or a professional needing additional support in these areas.

Also, if you are a parent in need of additional support or guidance, Jill and Courtney are able to provide short term consultations to equip you with skills and parenting strategies to implement with your children during those difficult seasons of parenthood.  Contact us for more information.
